Brush Care Tips

We always love sharing our tips on proper brush care, since clean brushes create the best makeup results. We suggest using a brush cleanser to wash them every week if used daily. Here are some step-by-step instructions: Wet the brush with warm water, being careful not to fully immerse the base of the bristles. Place a pea-sized drop of brush cleanser (or any mild cleanser like baby shampoo) in the palm of your hand. Swirl the bristles in the cleanser in a circular motion until the brush is fully lathered. Rinse the bristles, squeezing from the base to the tips to remove excess water. Repeat until the water runs clear and all makeup is removed from the brush. Reshape the bristles to their original form and lay the brush down on a flat surface to dry. You can also gently brush bristles on paper towel to remove buildup.

(Tip: Wash brushes at night so they are dry and ready for use in the morning.)

I have had this brush for a month now. This brush is amazing. It beautifully blends your foundation into your skib to get an airbrushed look and feel! It also covers acne too just depending on what foundation you use. Now for the people who are saying it is fake you can go on the sigma website and see the authorized sellers on amazon if they are not authorized sellers.. There is a chance your brush might be fake. Here are the authorized sellers posted on the sigma website:

Okay, I just got my F80 brush in the mail today. I couldn’t wait to try it out, so I came home, took off my makeup and reapplied it using this brush. I must say I am forever sold on Sigma brushes!!! It’s unbelievable how dense and soft this brush is!!! I have spent tons of money on foundation and I was always disappointed, I could never figure out why it never looked right…I watch all the YouTube videos, buy high-end makeup, but to be honest my makeup looked horrible….until now! This brush has answered my prayers. My makeup looks flawless. I even used this brush to apply my setting powder and my blush and it done wonderful. I will definitely be buying the rest of my brushes from Sigma from now on. (:

    September 5, 2010:

Shipping is super fast and the brush is well packaged. It comes in a cute red bag with a free gift, the travel size blending brush E25. Even get happier after using the brush. It works effectively with liquid foundation. I end up looking flawless when applying my foundation in a stippling motion. The bristle is so soft and dense. Most importantly, it didn’t shed! Not even a single bristle! The best part is, I bought TWO!! Sigma F80 is definitely the best foundation brush ever!

    ….

    Updated review (Oct 24, 2011):

I bought this brush in September, 2010. Now, after a year, i have no choice but to throw both brushes away….why?…coz after using it for a couple of months, it sheds horribly…it just won’t stop. Finally, the remaining bristles just pop out from the ferule…eeeew[…] this brush is my biggest regret!

I absolutely love this brush! But I have to say, the reviews are surprising to me. This is a Stippling brush, NOT a buffing brush. If you want to use a brush and ‘buff’ in your foundation, there is a Buffing brush in the Core Collection.

As far as stippling (picking up a small amount of foundation with just the very tips of the white fibers and gently bouncing the brush over your skin repeatedly until the ‘dots’ overlap to form even, ‘airbrushed’ or ‘pixelated’ coverage) goes, this brush is wonderful.

Yes, it’s smaller than say a MAC 187 or the ELF stippling brush, but I find that’s helpful in terms of reaching areas on my face such as the sides of my nose or under my eyes that a larger brush is to big for. The compact size and shorter bristles also make a less ‘floppy’ brush, with better resistance. I don’t find that it takes a long time to do my whole face.

I’ve used this brush with Revlon Colorstay aand Estee Lauder Double Wear and it works beautifully with both. Both these foundations dry quickly so I work one section at a time, layering until I reach the desired coverage. I’m able to achieve the same level of coverage as I could using my hands, but with an airbrushed, beautiful finish that doesn’t look like I’m wearing heavy foundation. I also haven’t noticed any shedding. I really love this brush and look forward to trying some of the other brushes/collections.

The Best Stippling Brush I’ve Ever Used!!!, January 19, 2012

Like many other women, I was on youtube watching makeup videos and I saw so many people with stippling brushes so I decided to buy one. I had a stippling brush once by E.L.F. but I did not like it. The bristles were far too lose for me. It wasn’t bad… I just prefer a brush with a little more thickness… And that E.L.F. brush was lacking. So I decided maybe a different brand would be better. Now, keep in mind that I have never really heard of this brand or seen anyone on youtube with this brush… I just looked up stippling brush on amazon and I loved the design & color so I took the chance and bought it. Let me tell you, I was so happy with this brush. It has just the right amount of thickness… Doesn’t leave any annoying lines/streaks on my face from my liquid foundation. It buffs like a charm, ladies. I use a liquid foundation as well as a cream stick foundation and it blends so well.. Conceals…An incredible airbrushed look.. I threw all of my other brushes out.. This one exceeds..

I prefer this $10 brush over my $17 doller buffing brush form Sonia Kashuk. It makes your face look flawless i swear. If you uses it the CORRECT way, you face will look airbrushed foreal. I just spread my foundation in a VERY THIN layer on a clean suface (I use a little mirror). I dab the brush in the foundation, just the very tips of the bristles are covered. Then stipple on the face NOT BUFF, its not a buffing brush. Its gonna take a while but trust me, It’s worth the extra effort!
