Feels decent, but doesn’t repair lips, December 19, 2011
    By

I got five of these lip balms free from BzzAgent, and I tried them out for over a month before making up my mind about them. Here’s what my final judgement is: These lip balms are nice, they feel good on your lips, they hydrate while you wear them, and the colors are surprisingly visible. They also don’t seem to do what the package says, which is make your lips actually softer over the course of your use. Like I said, I used these for a while before posting this so that I could make a fair judgement, and I definitely don’t think they soften or hydrate lips any better than any other lip balm. I normally use Burt’s Bees honey lip balm and I feel like that does a better job keeping my lips hydrated over time. That being said, these lip balms smell nice and they leave a nice color, and they don’t feel too sticky or oily. I also like that they are in a nice and easy twist up tube rather than a squeeze tube or a pot, it makes application easy. The peach lip balm smelled nice and had a nice peachy sparkle that was subtle but not too subtle. Definitely prettier than naked lips, and very easy to put on in a pinch for time. Overall, I’d say if you’re not looking for something that is going to give you long term hydration, and you just want an easy, nice-feeling, pretty lip balm, then this is a great choice.

Best lip balm ever!, December 28, 2011

I saw this at the store and decided to purchase the “quenched” and also “peppermint” versions on a whim — both are the clear colored lip balms, and I LOVE them both! I have noticed a huge difference with my lips feeling moisturized, much softer and I haven’t had dry or chapped lips at all since discovering “Baby Lips” about 3 weeks ago. I think the “trick” is that you do need to reapply every few hours and I also reapply before bed. My lips are constantly chapped in the winter (I work a lot outdoors) and this product has so far been such a huge help in keeping chapped and dry lips at bay. I previously used Burt’s Bees lip balms, as well as Carmex, but those never worked well for me. Baby lips works wonders, and I’m going to try out the various colors now as well. Do try and remember to reapply, reapply, reapply! 😉

I have purchased many different tinted lip balms in search of the “perfect” product. I’ve often been disappointed, either by the poor texture of the balm or by the unnatural color. However, I heard good things about Maybelline’s Baby Lips line, so I decided to give this a try in the “Peach Kiss” variety.

Overall, I like this product a lot. It has a very nice, fruity scent, a bit more like grape than peaches too me. The balm goes on smooth and feels great on my lips. I love that the product contains SPF as well, and also that there no irritating ingredients (I’ve had trouble with peppermint oil in particular in other products). My only slight problem is with the peach color–although I do like it, the tint is VERY subtle, and, at least on my own lips, barely noticeable. Also, I’ve noticed that after a few hours, my lips seem to feel a bit on the dry side.

Still, I am very satisfied with this product overall. I will probably try at least one of the other shades to see if the color has a bit more intensity to it. I would definitely recommend Baby Lips, but I would suggest you buy in stores rather than on Amazon, where you can find the balm for less than half the price listed here.

Edited 2/20/12: I’ve now tried another shade; please see my review for Grape Vine: Maybelline New York Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm, Grape Vine, 0.15 Ounce.
